Something Wicked This Way Comes

Reading the above, I’m growing even more alarmed with our fate should Trump get re-elected. And, before I write any more, let me be clear — I’M NOT ADVOCATING ANYTHING!!! I’m just making my abstract fears concrete then thinking about in a general way, what might happen.

Please, any ATF people reading this blog post — chill the fuck out. I hate violence. I hate guns. I really fucking hate guns.

Ok, back to the point — what the fuck are we going to do if Trump goes full tyrant in early 2025? Now, remember, at this point, Trump will have two ways to knock heads — the Insurrection Act and a weaponization of the existing ICE infrastructure. At the moment, at least, Tyrant Trump would not have an paramilitary MAGA SA to browbeat the average Blue into either allowing him to establish a military dictatorship or to flee the country to avoid being put in an ICE camp.

One possible way that the freedom-loving American populace could remind Tyrant Trump that he can’t just turn us into an autocratic state without some consequences might be a Women’s Strike or General Strike. But that would be so unpreceded that I just don’t see them happening. But if they did and the American economy ground to a halt, that might be enough to get the U.S. Military at a minimum to stand down.

At best the U.S. Military might topple Trump using the guise of the 14th Amendment — stranger things have happened. But it could be that Trump succeeds despite himself, like he always does.

About 1 million smug, wealthy liberals will leave the country starting the moment it’s clear that Trump will be POTUS again and we Poors will just have to fend for ourselves. I will get snatched off the street by an ICE agent because I kept calling Tyrant Trump a “fucking cocksucker” on this blog over the years.

If so, so be it. I’d rather die on my feet than live my life on my knees a slave.

Mulling An American Military Junta Starting In Late 2024, Early 2025

It is definitely hysterical doom shit on my part to suggest that the United States might find itself with a military junta starting in late 2024, early 2025. It would be the first time in our history when such a thing had happen. It goes against everything the U.S. Military believes in even do such a thing in the first place.

As such, it definitely seems as though we’re going to peacefully side into a MAGA-themed autocratic state. Not a shot fired. We just shrug and give up. About 1 million smug Twitter liberals leave the country, leaving Poors like me to fend for themselves.

If such an unlikely thing DID happen, I could see Gen. James “MadDog” Mattis being acting POTUS while we had a Constitutional Convention to push through some MUCH needed structural reforms to our political system.

I think that is specifically what would happen. The crisis of late 2024, early 2025 grows so dire that the there’s a coup, a military junta is established that runs the country for the specific amount of time necessary to hold a Constitutional Convention.

I have to say when that’s your best case scenario for your country, you’re definitely in a “Not great, Bob,” situation. We can only hope that this is just yet more hysterical doom shit on my part.

Gaming Out An American Military Junta in Late 2024, Early 2025

I write a lot about the possibility of autocracy or civil war in late 2024, early 2025. And, yet, there is a third option that I’ve written about some, too: military junta.

How exactly what that happen? Well, it’s still too far to game out, but one possibility would be that Blue States begin the process of leaving the Union and the military finally steps in to kind of cool things down until, maybe, a Constitutional Convention can be called.

The other scenario is, of course, is the U.S. Military is forced to step in because, well, lulz, we have no idea who POTUS is — or, at least, can’t agree using political means who should be POTUS.

I think we have to give the idea of a military junta serious thought because history has shown us that that is often the route that modern democracies go when they finally fail. It happened with the French in the 1960s and it could happen here in a few years.

In my fevered imagination, I could see someone like James Mattis being named “acting POTUS” for a few months while we sort out exactly what we’re going to do about a National Divorce / secession crisis / certification crisis. The U.S. Military is the only remaining institution in America that would have the means to keep the country together if there was a severe political crisis.

And it would make sense, given how respected the U. S. Military is across the political spectrum for them to control the country through some sort of bi-partisan military junta made up of military and political leaders. A military junta might, in the end, be the only thing that stops either civil war or autocracy from happening.

But. And this is a big but — it could be that not even the American military would be able to avoid buckling should the time come. Generally, the officer corp still believes in democracy, while the enlisted are far more likely to support MAGA.

Which reminds me of the coup attempt that Turkey had a few years ago that ultimately did nothing more than allow their autocrat to consolidate power. So, again, I think in the end, America is just going to become an autocracy. Or, to make ourselves feel better, we’re going to pretend we’re a traditional Western democracy when, in fact, everyone and I mean EVERYONE will know that we’re simply another illiberal democracy like Hungary or Turkey.

The only question I have, of course, is — will I cross ICE and endup in a Trump branded concentration camp?

What If We Held A Second American Civil War & Nobody Came: The Case For A 2025 Military Junta

I’ve talked a lot about the existential choice of autocracy or civil war that America faces around 2025 as part of the so-called “Fourth Turning.” But there is a third option — military junta.

In a sense, this option makes a lot more sense than either autocracy or civil war because it could be just the temporary fix to our problems. The scenario I’m thinking of is rather than what the Reds want, which is autocracy or what the Blues might want out of desperation, which is civil war, we would simply turn the reigns of power over to the military.

Once we did that, it’s easy to imagine the whole point of the exercise would be a convening of a Constitutional Convention that would address the concerns of both sides. This would be a way to take the existential issues of 2025 out of the hands of our undead politics and turn it over to a hopefully objective existential body that would help us become a more perfect Union.

There, unfortunately, so many problems with this on-paper ideal solution that it’s highly unlikely it would happen. What’s more likely to happen is either we slip peacefully into a MAGA New Right autocracy or Blue States grow so enraged that they leave the Union and all hell breaks loose.

The biggest problem is, of course, the U.S. Military on a systemic basis will do everything in its power to avoid this very solution, even to the point that the whole country collapses into anarchy. This would happen when the military simply refuses to pick a side when Trump fucks everything up like he always does and we just don’t know who the “real” POTUS is and Blue and Red States go for each others throats.

Another problem might be, that the not even the military will be able to withstand the forces tearing the country apart and the largely MAGA enlisted men pick the opposite side as the brass. So, instead of a unified military being able to step in for a few crucial months, everything collapses in on itself and we bomb ourselves into oblivion using illicitly seized caches of WMD.

If MAGA gets its way and we turn into an autocracy then, well, lulz.

The point of all of this is we need to start preparing ourselves for some pretty astonishing choices in the 2024 -2025 timeframe. And it’s going to suck so, so bad. It’s going to be horrible.

But the current autocracy without an autocrat status quo can not stand. We have a short-term solution to a long-term problem.

‘Will There Be A Civil War?’

I’ve decided to answer searches that bring people to this site. So, let me answer this question. The short answer is: maybe.

The long answer is, well, it’s one of a series of potential endgames. MAGA New Right people get a lot of things wrong in their overheated need to glorify political violence.

The first thing they get wrong is thinking that somehow a violent civil war would be better for them than simply being patient and staying within the quickly dying norms of our undead democracy. The MAGA New Right’s best option is we turn into a MAGA themed autocracy — which, right now, is theirs to lose. No one will get hurt — other than people like me who won’t shut up about what a fucking cocksucker our new autocratic ruler is — and they get what they want, which is a white Christian ethno state.

But, no, just like how Europe in 1914 went to war with great gusto, the obviously self-defeating gorification of political violence on the part of the MAGA New Right is probably going to cause a civil war — but not the one the New Right thinks.

What is likely to happen is, if there is, in fact, a Second American Civil War, it will be when Blue States attempt to leave the Union in January 2025 when a MAGA controlled Congress balks at allowing Biden (or whomever) to become president. As such, President DeSantis (or whomever) will freak out, attack the secessionist Blue States and we get the civil war that all the fucking cocksucker MAGA New Right assholes think is going to happen when they stumble across this site looking for my “doom shit” on the subject.

Of course, the wild card is the U.S. Military. We might find ourselves with the third option — a military junta — if it steps in to calm things down should there be a 2025 Nullification Crisis.

It seems as though at the moment there is just a lot of abstract interest in a civli war on the part of a lot of MAGA New Right shitheads. They feel as though liberals are forcing them to radicalize and the goalposts have been moved to much that we’re officially in, “Welp, let’s have a civil war to end Cancel Culture once and for all.”

This is such a dumb fucking thing to think because a Second American Civil War would be such a fucking tragedy — because of the likely use of WMD — that even the most diehard MAGA New Right fucktard might regret being so excited at the prospect.

But, back to the question at hand: will there be a Second American Civil War?

At the moment, I don’t think so. I think we’re going to slip peacefully into a MAGA-themed autocracy and the New Right will enjoy minority rule for generations to come after January 2025. If that doesn’t happen, it will because the leadership of the MAGA New Right, specifically fucked things up and bungled that peaceful transition.

Anyway, fuck MAGA and fuck you if you support it.
