There are two possible ways that Biden will finally be impeached.
Comer and his merry band of GQP ding-dongs just do it In this scenario, House Republicans decide to just force a vote as close as possible to the election so when low information voters are headed to the polls they will think “well, both candidates have been impeached, so, fascism here we come.”
A Black Swan In this scenario, some random scandal that would otherwise no big that big a deal will lead directly to impeachment because, lulz, the country is so tightly wound, so highly partisan — and seemingly on the cusp of civil war — that if Biden does actually do something vaguely improper, he will be impeached by the House.
Not that I want this to happen, but House Republicans if they are sooooo upset over Hunter Biden, do have an option: inherent contempt. This is, as I understand it, the ability for Congress to actually get the its Sargent at Arms to physically arrest someone and put them in the Capitol brig.
Hunter Biden
I can’t figure out if they’re cowards or if they’re so dumb that they don’t realize that they could finally see Hunter Biden in jail if they did that. Now, the political ramifications would be enormous — he would instantly be a center-Left martyr, even more than he already is.
But given that they just don’t care about anything but “ruling” rather than “governing” it seems like it’s a gimmie for them to invoke inherent contempt. But….I dunno, it’s all very odd.
All signs point to Speaker MAGA Mike impeaching Joe Biden sometime in January. The point of this silly act is simply to make Biden and Trump “equal” in the minds of low information voters as they head to the polls in late 2024. That and a huge amount of spite.
It seems as though Speaker MAGA Mike is doing this at the direct order of ding-dong Trump. The two met recently so the speaker could suck Trump’s political cock. As one does in such a position.
The whole thing is a huge waste of time. But it will only help to cement Trump’s absolute power over House Republicans. And, remember, when should Trump go full tyrant once he’s re-elected, if the House is Republican….he’s going to have pretty much absolute power. He will be able to consolidate power through Agenda47, Schedule F and Project 2025 quite quickly.
Then, given how form follows function, we’re going to have a Constitutional Convention that will go rouge, put MAGA Enabling Acts into the Constitution itself and that’s all she wrote. We turn into a Russia-style autocracy with camps and potentially American Killing fields.
I wish I was joking.
But we have to go through a dumb impeachment of Biden in January so Trump has a spring in his step heading into November 2024.
This is so dumb. Just get it over with, you idiots. But I guess they just want to slow walk any impeachment of Biden so they can make the whole thing conflated in the minds of low information voters.
The whole point of the Biden “impeach inquiry” on the part of House Republicans (and Trump) is simply to create some for of false moral equivalence between Biden and Trump on election day. Either people will not vote or the calculous they use to vote will be so fucked up from a shame impeachment of Biden that Trump wins.
We have to begin to accept that we’re careening towards the most decisive presidential election in American history since 1860. At the moment, barring something none of us can predict, Trump is going to win in 2024 — or we have a civil war.
There is, of course, a very small chance that we might have a “Blue Revolution” if Trump wins, but I doubt it. Smug Twitter Liberals already have one foot out the door with second passports, so lulz, they’re going to be too busy relocating to the south of France to help Poors like us.
Eat the rich.
Anyway, as I keep saying, you go bankrupt gradually then all at once. And I think that’s exactly what’s going to happen to the United States. Once Trump is president again, America is going to have a very Germany 1933 vibe to it. I don’t think there’s going to be anything stopping MAGA’s consolidation of power in 2025 if Trump wins.
That will be that. Trump will be the transitional figure between us being in an anocracy and an autocracy. America will leave NATO and South Korea and the entire post-WW2 global order will be thrown up in the air. Russia will win its war of aggression against Ukraine and the already existent ICE camp infrastructure will be weaponized.
In 20 years — or less– Americans will wake up and wonder why we’re invading Canada to save it from “the woke mind virus.”
If Trump doesn’t win, meanwhile, we have a civil war. Or come close to one. The deep echo of the first civil war is alive and well in the South and, as such Texas will leave the Union and that will set off a cascading series of events with no obvious endgame.
And, of course, there will probably be WW3 as all of that is happening.
Any discussion of what’s going on with House Republicans being hell bent to simply be able to use the word “impeachment” a lot when it comes to Biden has to first remember how the first impeachment in American history went down. As I recall, Radical Republicans were so angry at Andrew Johnson that they impeached him without even knowing why they they were doing it.
They just wrote in the articles later.
So, here we are, with it seeming as though the United States is either going to turn into a MAGA-themed autocracy, or have some sort of secessionist crisis at some point in the near future. At the moment, it definitely seems as though late 2024, early 2025 is going to be a crucial moment in American history, where we decide our form of government for generations to come.
Anyway, it seems as though in some respects, the “impeachment inquiry” against Biden is happening for several reasons. One reason is sheer spite — House Republicans want to strike back at Biden for Trump being a criminal. They also want to both scream at the top of their lungs that Biden is being impeached and thus can’t be re-elected while at the same time poo-pooing the idea that Trump has been impeached twice.
“It happens to every president these days,” is what they want people to think.
Also, remember, this is white knuckled power politics. House Republicans simply want cover for using the word “impeachment” on Fox News, in hopes that all that white noise bullshit will lodge itself into the minds of low information voters in five swing states and be 2024’s “Benghazi.” At the moment, they don’t even have the votes to actually launch an impeachment inquiry, much less actually impeach Biden.
But, lulz, they’re going to do it anyway because they can say “the only way we can find the truth is with an impeachment inquiry.” It’s a similar logic to how Republicans vote against popular programs, then take the credit for them when they are implemented in their districts.
It’s a win-win: they get to tell Red voters that they voted against big government spending and they get to take credit for popular programs in the minds of Blues and independents.
I do find it curious that Republicans are so dumb and ill-focused that they didn’t decide to impeach Biden for the “border crisis” or any number of actual problems in the country, rather than nebulous bullshit involving Biden and his son. It’s all very strange to me.
But, regardless, we have to accept that what’s going on in the House is ping for a not-so-distant future where we either are no longer a democracy, or our political system finally collapses into real world political violence. I hate violence, but I would suggest you get ready.
If you want any proof at what paper tigers MAGA House Republicans are, look no further than how they have yet to do the obvious — impeach Biden on Tuesday just as Trump is being arraigned.
They’re craven and without shame, so lulz, YOLO it and have the split screen of the House voting on impeachment at the same time that Trump is being booked.
I don’t want this to happen, obviously, but it is telling that for all their talk about burning everything to the ground and impeaching this or that person, in real terms, MAGA House Republicans are too disorganized and ill focused to do some pretty basic hard-ball things in this situation.
Not that we shouldn’t be prepared for some sort of bonkers violence on Tuesday. This is South Florida we’re talking about, so anything is possible. But, in general, we have to accept that there is a very good chance that Biden is going to be impeached soon for SOMETHING.
Now what that SOMETHING is, I dunno. But it’s probably going to happen pretty soon. Maybe within days.
Welp, I think America is going to default. Or, more specifically, I think we’re going to default, Biden is going to be forced to invoke the 14th Amendment and it gets throw into the lap of the hack MAGA judges who want to destroy America so we become an autocratic white Christian ethnostate.
Then, in turn, once all that is figured out, MAGA House Republicans will strike — they will impeach Biden for “abuse of power” and that’s what we’ll be focused on for the next few months while we suffer through a severe global recession o a par with the Great Recession.
Now, obviously, having such a horrific economic situation ahead of us definitely would focus the mind of pols in Washington. But I think because MAGA Republicans are so tyrannical and politically bloodthirsty that they will lulz everything because a default will help them transition the US into an autocratic white Christian ethnostate.
So, there you go.
We’re fucked.
Or not.
I suppose it’s possible we’ll somehow muddle through yet again, but I have my doubts.
I just don’t think people are really taking how bumpy the next 18 months could be seriously. It’s very possible that in quick succession, the US will default, Biden will be impeached for trying to solve the problem using the 14th Amendment AND Hollywood will burn to the ground after it grinds to a halt because three strikes that prompt the widespread use of AI.
And that doesn’t even begin to address the prospect of the so-called “Fourth Turning” in late 2024, early 2025.
But, as I often say, I’m always, always wrong.
And, yet, I do think that the closer we get to late 2024, early 2025, the more “bumpy” things are going to become. The 2024 election cycle is shaping up to be a massive fucking clusterfuck. The only way we don’t either turn into an autocracy or have a revolution / civil war is if not only does A Democrat win the presidency, but Trump doesn’t do a Stop The Steal Redux.
In other words, the world’s first hyperpower is primed and ready to implode into chaos in such a spectacular manner that it will be said in the breath as the French Revolution and the Russian Revolution.
Man, do I wish I was joking or just spreading “hysterical doom shit.” But I’m not. I really think there is a greater-than-zero chance that the United States is going to have a revolution / civil war starting in late 2024, early 2025. At this point, it’s just an issue of if it’s Reds (civil war) or Blues (revolution) who light the match.
But I do think in the near term that if Biden uses the 14th Amendment to end any sort of defaut that it will be why he’s impeached. It’s simple to understand for the base and it will probably zoom through Congress, only to be stopped cold in its tracks in the Senate.
Welp, it definitely seems we’re lurching towards MAGA Republicans impeaching Biden in the very, very near future. In fact, if they did impeach Biden quick enough, they could very well impeach him TWICE within the next few months.
Once for the bullshit they’ve just come up with and another time for him using the 14th Amendment to avoid a debt default. Or maybe all of the bullshit Republicans have stirred up the last few days is simply prepping the way for an impeachment of Biden for SOMETHING, ANYTHING, so they don’t have to talk about all the criming that Trump continues to do on a nearly daily basis.
The only surprise in all of this is it’s taken MAGA Republicans this long to get around to impeaching Biden. It was inevitable that this was going to happen. Republicans are so devoid of any meaningful policies — that are popular, at least — that an impeachment or two is the political equivalent of crack. They get a quick, cheap way to juice the base and if they impeach Biden enough times, take away a talking point from the libs they so want to “own.”
The clock is ticking, regardless. It’s just a matter of time at this point. It will be interesting to see how long it takes the process to unfold going forward.
