Tomorrow afternoon, I plan to begin to grow more aggressive in transitioning the Private Beta to a Public Beta. But one thing that has happened is I have come up with a new name for this novel.
It’s meant to evoke in the mind of the audience the idea that this novel is in the same general genre as Stieg Larsson’s work. And, it is, even if it’s a totally different story and not nearly as dark as any of Larsson’s original stuff. And, in real terms, the story is more a journalistic Mare of Easttown than it is The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo.
And, really, it’s still something of a placeholder. I’m fully prepared to change it as need be during the course of the next stage in the process.
Speaking of which, very soon, I’m going to have to start reading the Beta drafts of OTHER people’s novels so I can get them to read MY novel. At least, that’s the thinking. As such, I’m trying — trying — to force myself to do more reading of fiction just in general.
I’m going to have leave my comfort zone, one way or another, to get this novel done.
