What is it with far Right wing people believing really fucking weird things? The Nazis, if you look at what they believed in a critical manner, were fucking bonkers. They were into the Occult. They believed all these weird things, sometimes leading them on explorations that took them to far away places they had no business going. (How much of this is true and how much of this is imply me remembering the plot of Indiana Jones movies, I don’t know.)
But the point is — don’t judge MAGA’s ability to turn America into A Very American Autocracy based on how weird their ideas are. A political movement with fucking weird ideas has seized control of a country that should have known better before and it can happen again. This time not in Germany, but in the United States.
All I can say is, at the moment, there’s nothing stopping the weirder ideas of MAGA from becoming the orthodoxy of the state once they steal the 2024 election. (Though, to be fair, they may not even need to steal the election. Everything is so fucked up in America right now that they may very well cheat only because that’s their nature.)
Everything sucks. The bad guys are winning and are probably going to win. Buckle up. Leave the country if you can.
