It May Be Time For A New ‘Trump’ On SNL

SNL serves the same purpose that the old Thomas Nast cartoons of the 19th Century did. How it portrays someone gives us a sense of how liberals in New York City view political figures.

As such, I think it’s time for SNL to find someone new to play Trump. Just in the last few months, since SNL went on summer hiatus, the perception of Trump has changed. Trump has gone from a criminal buffoon to someone who is sufficiently mentally unstable to garner serious concern.

Who would be good to play Trump? I don’t know. But I might suggest they think back to Chevy Chase’s portrayal of Ford. He didn’t look anything like Ford nor did he try to. But he got the point across.

So, I dunno. I think they need to pull someone unexpected out. Someone who heightens the erratic deranged aspect of Trump’s personality.
