The scary thing is, we’re in for a few bumpy months as things sort themselves out. I’m of the opinion that we’ll be at war with the DPRK by August. I say this with the expectation that John Bolton will be National Security Adviser in the coming days.
I believe that the United States is no longer a republic. The United States is now a quasi empire and that because of cold blooded, bare knuckled politics, there’s nothing we can do about it for the time being. The Vichy Republicans in Congress have completely given up their oversight responsibilities and there’s no much we can do about it.
I would suggest, however, that the only way we get out of this situation is a mass organization of the people the likes of which we’ve never seen in American history. We’d have to design an app that allowed people to protest legally and peacefully for weeks, if not months before Vichy Republicans would take notice.
Of course, by the time it actually worked, the 2018-midterms would be around the corner and some of the momentum would be taken out of the effort as the political silly season began. The below video is pretty interesting and goes into a lot of detail about what I’m talking about.
