I’ve allowed myself to just veg out today. This coming Saturday afternoon, however, I’m going to throw myself back into transitioning the Private Beta into a Public Beta. I really want to just chill out for a few days so I can look at the Private Beta with fresh eyes.
My dream title for my first novel.
Things are moving really fast now, with the chief thing potentially slowing me down is the difficulty of finding cooperative Beta Readers and lacking funds to pay a manuscript editor. But “every problem is an opportunity in disguise” as I used to say in my ROKon Magazine days.
At the moment, at least, I’m still on track to begin the formally querying literary agents early next year. That’s the dream, at least. I’m not going to live forever and I would like to at least be able to go through the process of querying to see what that’s like.
The moment I begin the Beta Reader process, I’m going to start reading up on querying. I also plan to start really working hard on the other five novels in this projected six novel projet. That’s the dream, at least.
All of this gives me something to look forward to, if nothing else. It is definitely going to be interesting to see how far I get through this project before it becomes absolutely clear that I’m just not good enough and I’ve been living in a delusional dreamworld.
But I will have had a lot of fun being delusional. And I’ve learned a lot not just about myself, but how to be a storyteller. Barring, I don’t know, a fucking civil war, I plan on keep “wasting” my time on novel writing from here on out.
