I was a long-term fan of Larry King and so it was quite unexpected when he was abruptly retired and replaced with British dingus Piers Morgan. Now, as part of our overall vibe shift, we find ourselves contemplating who will one day replace Lorne Michaels at the helm of Saturday Night Live.
Seth Meyers is his logical successor at this point. And, yet, as Piers Morgan proves, sometimes network execs can do weird things out of the blue. As such, it seems as though someone like Lin-Manuel Miranda might be someone they would approach to run SNL at some point in the future.
But Miranda now has a successful Hollywood career, so, lulz. But maybe NBCUniversal could lock him down for a season or two while they figure out what they’re going to do long-term?
Who knows.
